Victorian English Gold Dangle Earrings

Victorian earrings have been getting so difficult to find recently that I have taken to making some up! These beauties are made from links from an old damaged watch chain, I just used the perfect, hand pierced decorative links to give them sparkle and life. The drops were off an old collar that was too wrecked to save but had beautiful golden drops. I married them together and had my jeweler make these lovely ball and wire tops and voila! Perfect, reused and recycled Victorian drop earrings, just like they wore in the 1880s and made from 1860s-80s parts.

The earrings are done in 9 karat gold from top to bottom and the parts were acid tested. The earrings measure 53 mm from the very top to the very bottom, they are link in two places to provide lots of movement and sway. Together this pair weighs 3.6 grams.
