Steam rose from the surface of my coffee mug as I perched it on the edge of the windowsill. The panes were foggy with the heat of the winter morning. Snow touched the ground that night, leaving a soft sprinkling of flakes on the still green grass. I watched as the sun rose through the pristine pink of the sky, I felt the coolness of my ring on my finger, and smoothness of the gold against my skin. The opals matched the sky, blue, and pink and mesmerizing, mixing with the green of the pines and the orange of the sun. Both were quite a sight to be seen.
This antique Victorian ring was handcrafted in England around 1900. It showcases a lively display of three wonderful opals with great play of color; these are patterned with four small accent diamonds, all set in 18 karat gold. Each of the opals are round cabochon cut, with the center stone measuring 4.4 x 4.4 x 2 mm. The diamonds are old European cut stones measuring around 1.25 mm in diameter. The ring face measures 6.5 x 14.5 x 3.5 mm off the finger and the band width is 2.0 mm at the back. It weighs 4.0 grams and is a size 6.75. It bears no marks and has been acid tested.
This electrifying sparkler is guaranteed to make your love of rings turn into a love of all things Victorian. It certainly swayed me. Gift it to yourself or for a friend, just make sure you wear it for a day or two before giving it away. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
