You could give it to her as the sun is setting in May, while the flowers are closing to go to sleep, as you sit on the back porch. You could give it to her on her birthday, hide it inside her usual morning coffee mug, making sure she doesn’t pour coffee over it first. You could give it to her for Christmas, leave it in her stocking, wait for her to find it, and anticipate that wide-eyed look and delightful smile. It doesn’t necessarily matter how the giving happens, so long as it does because she’ll love this ring.
This antique Victorian sapphire and diamond gold ring was handcrafted in England around 1890. This piece showcases an oval sapphire at the center of 14 round diamonds on a marquis ring face supported by a size 8.5 band. The sapphire measures 3.9 x 5 x 2.6 mm and weighs approximately .42 carats. There are 13 Old European cut diamonds and one brilliant cut, which was likely a replacement stone. The brilliant cut weighs approximately .03 carats. 11 of the Old European cut stones weigh approximately .03 carats each, while two of the Old European cut stones weigh approximately .01 carats each. Overall, this ring holds approximately .38 carats of diamonds. The ring face measures 17 x 8.5 x 4 mm off the finger and the band width is 2 mm at the back. It bears no marks and has been acid tested at 18 karat gold.
In any which way you choose, this antique ring longs to be gifted to her. It’s just her style and just her taste.

I was taken in by the beguiling gem at the heart of this fabulous solitaire ring. It shimmers and sparkles with every move of the hand. The color changes from richest orange to salmon pink and back again depending on the light of the day.
This hand crafted estate ring is fully hallmarked and was made in Birmingham, England in 2006, practically a baby by my standards! The lovely setting has two little leaves on either side of the four prong mounted stone. The stone itself measures 9.1x7.2x5.4 mm and weighs approximately 2.85 carats. This is a wonderfully clean stone with just one small feather inclusion visible with magnification. The ring is marked with the marks for Birmingham, England, 2006, and 18 karat (white) gold. The ring is a size 6.25 US and could be re-sized to suit.
This bright and lively ring would make a stunning engagement ring for anyone looking for an alternative to a diamond.
