Victorian Opal Diamond Pearl 18k Gold Bypass Ring

If I were a magician or a mystic, I would wear nothing but opals and pearls. They are at once beguiling and intriguing, subtly powerful. You might have noticed that I've been having a bit of a love affair with them. Maybe I feel like we could all use a little magic in our lives!

This intriguing Victorian ring gets it just right, balancing it's bright, beautiful blue opals with a by-passing line of creamy white pearls and ties it all together with a diamond ribbon!

Set into carefully acid tested 18 karat gold, the larger pearl and cabochon opal measure 3.5 mm across, the smaller ones are 2 mm across. The diamonds are old European cushion cuts of about .1 carats total weight. This ring was hand made around 1890-1900, most likely in England. It has some older hallmarks that have been somewhat covered over by previous re-sizing, the 18k mark is still visible as is the makers mark "A.A.". The ring is a size 8.25 but could be sized by an experienced jeweler, it weighs 3 grams.
