Victorian Repoussed Gold Frame Locket

We stood in his dark room. I was admiring his work in the Andes from last fall. His walls were covered in mountains and green landscapes. The gold on my round locket reflected the crimson glow of the lamps. He flipped on the light. Victoria, I never understood a rectangular portrait – or oval ones for that matter – the round portrait however – flatters the face – Ah, tu hablas la verdad. Salvador, great minds really do think alike.

This antique Victorian gold locket was handcrafted around 1890 in England. It displays a repousse floral design on each side, with a frame lined in blue fabric. It’s a regal locket, round in shape, that measures 41.3 x 28.8 mm and weighs 5.6 grams. It bears the gold purity mark, “9 CT”.

Lockets have been used for holding perfume, trinkets, photographs, and mirrors. You might just consider wearing it with no additions, flair, or panache, at all.
