Victorian Ruby Diamond Triple Cluster Ring

I bought this glowing antique 18 karat ruby and diamond on a bright sunny morning at Ardingly Antiques fair in the beautiful rolling hills of Haywards Heath. It was so filthy that I didn't really know what the stones were until I cleaned it (and cleaned it, and cleaned it some more). But, look what a precious gem I uncovered!

This wonderful and bright ring was made in England around 1890, it is set with three oval faceted rubies which are surrounded by triple halos of Old European cut sparkling diamonds. The three rubies are a rich magenta kissed with red, the center is about .45 carats, the sides are about .43 and .32, the three rubies add up to 1.2 carats total weighs. The rubies are surrounded by 26 round old European cut diamonds which are about 1.7 mm each and add up to about .58 carats in total weight. This ring measures 8.5 mm north to south and 17.4 mm across at the face, it sits 5.7 mm off the finger and narrows to 1.9 mm at the back of the band. This size 6.75 ring is unmarked but has been carefully acid tested as 18 karat gold, it weighs 4.6 grams.
