Victorian Scottish Love Knot Brooch Silver Agate Pin

It was a balmy day in Glasgow when I came across this fabulous early Lovers Knot brooch. It was such a regal looking piece with a rich history, I just had to have it. I wasn’t the only one with my eye on it either, but I was quite determined. Now, it can be yours.

This antique Scottish silver brooch was handcrafted in Scotland around 1870. There are four silver rings intertwined, symbolic of the knitting together of hearts, set with accents of agate in browns and reds. Floral engraving can be found on each ring. This piece measures 44 x 60.5 mm and weighs 16.8 grams. There are no hallmarks and it has been acid tested.

A pebble brooch like this should be worn proudly on lapel or sash, for the world to see, because darling, the world deserves to see it.
