Victorian Scottish St. Andrews Cross Brooch Pin Rose Gold Agate

This fantastic Victorian Scottish Agate St. Andrew’s Cross Brooch was hand crafted during the 1880’s. Saint Andrew, also called Saint Andrew the Apostle, was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus and the brother of Saint Peter, and is the patron saint of Scotland (and Russia).

The vivid, contrasting green and red hand cut agates are set flush in a solid, hand wrought and chased, cross shaped frame of 9 karat gold with a rosy hue. Finished by, and regally accented with, a hand chased and gem set crown, this spectacular antique Scottish brooch measures 40.6 x 33.0 x 7.1 millimeters and weighs 7.7 grams. This stunning brooch would look fantastic on any scarf, jacket or kilt or plaid!
