Victorian Silver Locket Gold Leaves

Victorians loved lockets; a form whose history far exceeds that of the photographs we put in them these days. Originally the locket was used to hold hair, ashes, relics and good luck charms, but one thing is the same, it was always meant to keep something precious close to your heart. This one is handmade with an exquisite eye to style and fashion.

This hand crafted silver locket is fully hallmarked as having been made in Birmingham, England in 1882 of Sterling Silver. It measures 63.3 mm top to bottom and 35.6 mm across and weighs 10.9 grams. Inside the locket is one frame.
