Victorian Silver Watch Chain Intricate Link Necklace

This intricate and highly detailed watch chain would have been the pride of any Victorian gentleman. Hand wrought in sterling silver, the chain features a lovely hand patterned double knot link. At it's center is the original T bar hanger which would have been used to hold the chain in place in a man's vest button hole. Each link is marked with the lion passant which indicates that is is crafted of sterling silver. Fully hallmarked, this fabulous watch chain bears the anchor mark for Birmingham, the letter date code 'z' for 1900 as well as the maker's mark 'H.P".

Originally, this would have been an essential item for any well suited gentleman (and certainly still would), but today it's even more well suited as an eminently wearable ladies necklace, versatile and yet quite substantial. It weighs a luxurious 47.7 grams and is the perfect length at 17.25 inches long. This is a style that has been copied constantly for over 120 years, but while these modern designer chains can very quickly go out of style, an original like this one never will! This go-with-anything chain promises to become a go-to item in your jewelry wardrobe.
