Victorian Sterling Silver Holly Locket Pendant

It was Christmas morning and snow fell soft and steady on the hills and fields all around. It fell in those fat, handkerchief like flakes that take their own sweet time. She stared out the window, mesmerized by the fluffy bits of white floating slowly down. The hustle and bustle of the season seemed to float away with the flakes. He came up behind her and she leaned into him, feeling his warmth. He took her hand, lifted it with her palm up and placed a shiny silver locket in it. She would spend the rest of her life looking at it and remembering the peace and joy of that snowy morning.

This fantastic silver locket was hand crafted in Victorian England in about 1880. The front is decorated with green gold Holly leaves and pink gold berries. The motif rests in an engraved frame and opens to reveal two wonderful frames to hold your photos or keepsakes. The locket measures 61 mm from top to bottom including the bale and 37.5 mm across, it’s 12.7 mm thick from front to back. This lovely piece weighs 18.5 grams, it is unmarked but tests as sterling.
