Vintage Art Deco French Carnelian and Marcasite Ring in Silver

My second favorite thing about Paris? The pastry shops around every corner - pain au chocolat, if you please. My third favorite thing about Paris? The shopping, a quick skip down the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. My first favorite thing about Paris? The jewelry.

This Art Deco silver carnelian and marcasite ring was handcrafted in Paris, France in about 1925. The large oval cabochon cut carnelian is a deep orange that measures 15.7 x 11.7 x 6 mm. Surrounding the beautiful carnelian are many marcasite stones, adding shimmer to the ring. There is a boar's head hallmark, meaning it was crafted in silver in Paris. It has been acid tested. This ring is a size 5 and weighs 6 grams. The face measures 20.3 x 15.1 x 11.3 mm off of the finger.

Ah Paris, the city of lights and love and perfectly fitting rings.
