If you’ve spent much time in the tropical island parts of the world then you’ll know what happens to water when it’s punctured by sunlight, gray turns to green, and blue turns another shade altogether, this shade, zircon blue. No other gem quite captures this phenomenon like the stunning zircon.
This simple yet highly appealing ring features a round sparkling natural blue zircon gem in beautiful 18 karat yellow gold. The stone measures 10.3 mm across and 6.3 mm deep and weighs about 5.6 carats. The stone is prong set into a lovely, swirling gold mount which is marked inside the band with ’18ct’ for the metal and ‘PIET’ and “15.1.58”, presumably for 1958, which is around the time it was made, surely. The ring measures 12 mm north to south overall and sits 7.1 mm off the finger, it narrows to 2.2 mm at the back of the band. The ring is a size 5.5 and weighs 3.6 grams.
