Vintage Elephant Ring in Solid Sterling Silver

The elephant is a powerful symbol, seen in ancient religions, mythology, and cave art dating back 12,000 years. It’s an intelligent creature, representing strength, power, and wisdom. The elephant can also represent good luck, so why not take this delightful elephant and carry it around on your finger all day?

This charming elephant ring was handcrafted in the 1960’s. This piece features an elephant with its trunk as the main attraction, as it reaches all the way around the finger and forms the band. The ring face measures 19.5 x 21 x 8 mm off the finger. It has an unknown maker’s mark and the silver fineness mark, “Sterling”. It’s a heavy piece, weighing 16.3 grams, and it is a size 7.25 US.

There is a theory which attests that elephants view humans as cute and adorable, much like how we look at puppies or babies. True or untrue, I’m a huge fan of this delightful hypothesis. There is no doubt that there’s a special bond between mankind and elephants, blame it on the relationship we’ve fashioned with the creature over the past few thousand years.
