Vintage French Art Deco Chalcedony Marcasite Enamel Ring

This is the green of lucky shamrocks and the color of grass underfoot. It’s the shade of emeralds, and candy apple sweets; of perfectly ripe pears, and the mysterious elixir called absinthe. It’s like a spring afternoon, beneath the leaves of a maple tree. Wearing this ring is like being in a field full of tall wild prairie grasses, and you get to carry it around on your finger.

This wonderful Art Deco chalcedony and marcasite ring was handcrafted in France around 1920. It’s such a pretty piece, and features a bright green luminescent cabochon cut round chalcedony in the center, surrounded by faceted marcasites, all framed inside a ring of black enamel, all set on silver. The chalcedony measures 10.8 mm in diameter and 5.7 mm in depth. This ring is a size 6.5 and weighs 6.2 grams. The ring face is 17.7 x 17.7 x 9.2 mm off the finger. This ring bears an eagle’s head and other French marks, and has been acid tested.
