Vintage French Art Deco Raphael Cherub Angel Pendant

These lovely French Cherub pendants are influenced by Raphael Sanzio’s oil painting, ‘Madonna di San Sisto’. In this work of classic art, he paints the Madonna holding the Christ child. On either side of them stand Saint Sixtus and Saint Barbara. Cherubs make up the foreground of the painting, resting on their little elbows, staring languidly around the frame.

Handcrafted in France, this Raphael Cherub pendant was made in 18 karat gold and platinum. This tiny perfect cherub has golden wings and darling chubby cheeks. This piece weighs 0.5 grams and measures 21.5 x 11.9 x 0.6 mm. It has a French origin mark of an eagle’s head, indicating 18 karat gold. Platinum borders the bottom and two sides of the pendant. Made around 1925, with strong Art Deco lines.

This playful pendant would make the ideal gift for a bride-to-be, a First Communion, a God child, or really anyone at all, even you!
