Vintage Scandinavian Catkins Earrings Birch Leaves

Between brunch and late-night drinks, she wears sterling earrings that dangle from her ears like rustling springtime leaves. She’s the type that writes her own story, not always knowing what she likes, but knowing what she doesn’t. All the while she dresses in style because, to her, accessories are art, and they’re best way to express herself without words.

These midcentury vintage Scandinavian earrings were handcrafted in sterling silver. They are retro danglers with a leaf and catkin design and are engraved with simple lines to showcase the style of the times. Together, these earrings weigh 7.9 grams. Individually, they measure 49 x 20 mm. They are hallmarked with the word, “STERLING”. They bear the maker’s mark, “WKR”, which belonged to the Dutch silversmiths, Willy H. Jacob Krogmar – Bagsvaerd. This pair of earrings were made around 1950.

Anyone who lives where birch trees grow knows the joy of seeing the catkins come out in the early spring. These earrings freeze that lovely moment of reawakening in time!
