Vintage Silver Citrine Dragon Ring

On most occasions, my curiosity leads to me to the most intriguing of facts. I know it’s hard to believe that citrine, yes, this beautiful soft yellow stone, was once used as a talisman to ward off evil, treachery, and scandal. It’s too light, you say. It’s so nonthreatening, you say. Well, it’s also the color of gold and sunlight, two of the most powerful substances on earth. It’s no wonder Greta Garbo and Joan Crawford wore citrine during the Art Deco era. I’m only left to wonder why they ever wore anything else?

This citrine silver ring was handcrafted around 1920-30. It’s a vintage sparkler with a large rectangular citrine at the center surrounded with a silver dragon motif on both shoulders. The stone measures 14 x 11.3 x 7.4 mm and weighs approximately 7.76 carats. The ring face measures 16.7 x 19.3 x 7.4 mm off the finger while the band width measures 2.0 mm at the back. This wonderful ring is a size 8.5 and it weighs 7.2 grams. It has been acid tested.

This stunning cocktail ring is certain not to spend much time in your jewelry box, as it goes perfectly with everything from faded jeans to little black dresses.
