This vintage silver World War II Victory bracelet was made around 1945, at the end of WWII. It was made in sterling silver, as it is marked as such. This piece features five main panels, all decorated with enamel. The front panel is the symbol of Victory in the war, with wings jutting out from the blue enameled, ‘V’. The other four panels are the flags of the Allies, the American flag, the flag of England, the flag of the Soviet Union, and the flag of the Republic of China. This historic bracelet measures 7 inches in length and weighs 17.1 grams.
This bracelet is fairly rare, as it is made in a precious metal. Around WWII, most precious metals were rationed and used for the war effort to build weapons, tanks, and machinery. Jewelry like this is also known as Sweetheart jewelry, although not all of it was given to a sweetheart. Often times, a war themed piece of jewelry would be made from scrap metal, and gifted to the soldier or loved one back home. The ‘V’ on the front panel of this piece was a hopeful symbol, meant for inspiring Americans and Allies suffering under the Nazi regime.
Commemorate World War II, or gift it to the history lover in your life, with this sleek WWII Victory bracelet!
