What did I love about this brooch? Well, it could be the flower in her hair, or perhaps her come-hither stare. Maybe it was the ruby and gold band wrapped around her arm, or the softness of her gown. Whatever it was, this one simply caught my eye and wouldn’t let it go!
This large oval brooch is simple and stunning, a painted and fired porcelain painting set in a bezel of silver with a twisted wire frame. This hand crafted brooch likely dates to the early Art Deco era, circa 1920. The brooch measures 75.8 mm north to south and 47.8 mm across and weighs 20 grams. The porcelain is numbered on the reverse, but otherwise unmarked, we’ve acid tested the silver for purity.
