Every time I go shopping, I am always on the lookout for wonderful lockets. Hearts are the top of my list for shape; something with a gorgeous detail like engraving would be quite nice, and if it comes with instant ancestors? All the better.
This wonderful Edwardian locket was hand crafted in England of 9 karat gold over a metal inner frame (what the English call ‘back and front’). Made in about 1900-1910, this locket has a rosy hue and is the perfect size at 39 mm top to bottom including the bale and 28.5 mm across. The locket weighs 6.0 grams. It opens to reveal a distinguished gentleman on one side and two children (?) on the other. Perhaps it was a beloved gift to Mom? You could replace these with loved ones of your own or keep them and wonder!
