One of the most common comments we get in our online reviews is that our items look better in person. Some of that is because jewelry is at least somewhat depends on the weight and feel of it, sometimes it’s because cut gems need light and movement to create sparkle and flash, but sometimes it’s just because in real life a piece reaches out and grabs hold of you. In this case, I think, it’s the latter.
Whatever the ‘it’ is, this pendant has it in spades. Hand crafted during the Arts and Crafts movement, this wonderful jewel is set with an array of glowing agates in shades of blue, green and rust. Each gem is mounted in a bezel with a twisted wire frame. The pendant is done in sterling silver, it’s got a wonderful weighty feel. This piece measures 72 mm north to south including the bale and it’s 39.1 mm across, it’s 7.6 mm thick and weighs 15.3 grams.
Hand made in England in about 1900.
