Stunning Natural Ceylon Sapphire Diamond Dome Ring Art Deco
“To see the world in a Grain of Sand And a Heaven in a Wild Flower Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand And Eternity in an hour…” - William Blake
William Black wrote those lines in 1803, this ring was made in about 1920, the fascinatingly beautiful sapphire at its heart was created by Mother Earth about a million years ago. You can feel it when you gaze into its depths, like you can see back a million or more years in time, it feels like nothing so much as holding infinity in the palm of your hand.
This hand crafted, hand pierced platinum ring is set with one fabulous blue sapphire and 60 sparkling diamonds. The sapphire weighs approximately 3.84 carats and is an untreated, unheated stone of Ceylon origin cut into a fascinating high dome which resembles a globe. The supporting diamonds include 8 old mine cut diamonds and fifty two rose cut diamonds weighing about 0.62 carats in total weight. The ring is marked on the outside of the band with the French mask mark which indicates an item made of platinum between 1912-1926. The face of this ring measures 14.2 mm north to south and sits 11 mm off the finger. This ring is a size 5.75 and weighs 5.95 grams.
