– Sold OutSomewhere between charming and uncanny, this expressive silver cat brooch stares out with wide yellow eyes and a mouth caught mid-meow. There's mischief here, maybe a bit of mystery too. Sculpted in exquisite detail, the fur is rendered in bold relief, and the mouth is open just enough to show tiny, perfect fangs. It’s the face of a beloved Victorian tabby, immortalized in silver with a character that’s impossible to ignore.
Made around 1900, this brooch is attributed to Georg Adam Scheid, a prominent silversmith whose work often walks the line between whimsy and fine craftsmanship. The brooch measures 40 mm tall by 36 mm wide and rises to 16.8 mm in depth, with a weight of 22.41 grams. The stem hook bears a mark, now too worn to read with certainty.
It’s a collector's piece, but also one to wear, because some jewelry doesn’t just decorate. It follows you, watches you, and quietly dares others to ask about it.
