Antique Victorian Diamond Solitaire Ring in 18k Gold, Hallmarked Chester 1895

Everyone wants style. She has it. It shows in the way she walks down the street, in the way she sips her coffee. It shows in the low of her heal, in the accessories she wears. It’s in her confidence and the way her smile reaches up and encompasses her eyes. Is she grinning because the skies are clear or because her diamond won’t stop sparkling?

This Late Victorian gold diamond solitaire ring was handcrafted in Chester, England in 1895. It was created in 18 karat gold. This sparkling Old European cut diamond is held aloft in a beautiful rich, yellow buttercup mount. The diamond measures 3.3 x 3.3 x 2.5 mm and weighs 0.19 carats.

This ring is fully hallmarked with the number ‘18’ indicating the gold, a Crown signifying English origin, the symbol for Chester which is a shield holding three wheat sheaves and a sword, as well as the letter code ‘M’ meaning 1895. The maker’s mark reads, ‘WG&S’. The face of ring measures 6.3 mm north to south and the height off of the finger is 4.1 mm. This ring is a size 6.75 and weighs 3 grams.

Have someone special in your life? Why not decorate their finger with the perfect amount of sparkle? As an engagement ring? What woman could say no?
