Victorian Garter and Shield Gold Locket

It was someone else’s wedding and the bridesmaid dress you were wearing was a weird shade of yellow. You held on to the fact that your locket was your outfits saving grace. It received so many compliments most didn’t even notice the ruffled gown. There’s something to be said about the distraction of shining gold on a beautiful woman. It’s ravishing. It garners an entire room’s attention by simply turning on a light.

This wonderful double sided locket was hand crafted in the Victorian era. It is made in 9 karat yellow gold and embossed both front and back with a garter motif on one side and a modified shield shape on the other. Both sides are also beautifully engraved. The locket has two frames on the inside and is ready for your photos. A medium sized locket, this one measures 35.8 mm north to south and 23.9 mm across, it is unmarked, but tests as 9 karat gold front and back and weighs 7.9 grams.
