This Midcentury Modern ring is all about those clean lines and the rich color of the cabochon cut stone. It was designed by Otto Rasmussen and hand crafted in about 1950 of sterling silver. The ring is fairly large in scale and set with an amethyst of 9.51 carats which measures 20x9.1x7.3 mm, the stone shows some wonderful color banding and is more clear at the bottom than in the center. The stone is set in this striking silver mount that holds it securely at the top and bottom. This ring measures 24.4 mm from north to south and 10.3 mm across, it sits 7.7 mm off the finger and narrows to 8.6 mm at the back of the band. The ring is marked with ’925 S’ for sterling and OR for the maker. This size 8.5 ring weighs 8.8 grams.
