Moonstone, it’s not just your garden variety feldspar, its alternating layers create a phenomenon called adularescence, causing a moon-like glow to travel through the gem, capturing the essences of moonlight. This ring is set with a heart shaped cabochon cut moonstone which is surrounded by 18 rose cut diamonds. The diamonds and moonstone are set in silver and 18 karat backed, the ring shoulder and shank are made in platinum and it is marked ‘PLAT’. This ring measures 13 mm north to south and 14 mm across, it sits 6.6 mm off the finger and narrows to 1.8 mm at the back of the band. The moonstone is 7.8x7.7x4 mm and the diamonds are 1.8 mm rose cuts. The ring is a size 4.75 but can be resized to suit, the ring weighs 3.9 grams.
This hand crafted English Edwardian cluster, or halo, style ring was made around 1910.
