This pair of earrings is crafted in metal that is gilded with a golden wash, each one is bezel set with a series of five rich red cabochon garnets. The largest garnets at the bottom of these lovelies are 10.5x8 mm, the others are 4 mm rounds, 4.5 mm rounds, 5.5 mm rounds and 7.5x4 mm ovals. These earrings are made in the Austro-Hungarian style and were likely crafted in about 1870 or perhaps a bit earlier. Each earring measures 73.5 mm long and 15.5 mm wide at the widest point, together they weighs 16.3 grams.
