Any good Dan Brown fan will have a pretty good idea of the lengthy history and shadowy mythology surrounding a group of men who called themselves the Freemasons, the worlds largest secret society. Masonic lodges in England date back to 1717, but I shouldn’t really say much more, after all, it’s all very secretive.
This wonderful masonic fob pendant was hand crafted in Victorian England; it shows a compass and star on atop a globe which opens to reveal a star. The inside star bears an English makers mark and ‘9ct’ as well as a registration number ’No 31472’ which translates to it having been made in 1885. The pendant measures 34 mm from top to bottom and 17.6 mm across at the center of the globe. This wonderful piece weighs 4.7 grams.
