Handcrafted around 1850, this brooch is made in 18 karat gold and set with fifteen turquoise cabochons. The heart-shaped drop contains a memorial locket on the reverse, preserving a woven keepsake of hair within. Altogether it measures 53.5 mm across by 47 mm north to south and weighs 12.5 grams. Though unmarked, it has been tested for 18 karat gold and survives in its original fitted box.

A jewel of sentiment and memory, it speaks not only of eternal love but of the Victorian impulse to hold those dearest close, even after parting.
