This antique Edwardian sapphire and diamond ring feels like a secret passed gently from one hand to another. Handcrafted in England and fully hallmarked for Chester in 1901, this antique five stone ring is made of solid 18 karat gold and bears the crown, “18,” Chester town mark, and date letter “A.” It features three natural sapphires totaling approximately .31 carats, including a center sapphire measuring about 3 x 3 x 2 millimeters, approximately .13 carats, flanked by two side sapphires measuring approximately 2.7 x 2.7 x 1.7 millimeters each for a combined .18 carats. Two rose cut diamonds measuring approximately 1.5 millimeters each add soft flashes of light between the sapphires. The ring measures 7.7 millimeters north to south, 19 millimeters across the face, sits 2.1 millimeters off the finger, with a band width of 3.2 millimeters. It weighs 3.8 grams and is currently a US size 7.5.
