Bold, graphic, and unmistakably Art Deco, this ring feels like a fragment of the Jazz Age captured in miniature. A dramatic panel of deep black onyx stretches across the finger, its glossy surface interrupted by a single bright diamond, like a spotlight cutting through a darkened stage. On either side, vivid coral adds a striking contrast, warm and alive against the cool precision of platinum. It is a composition of balance and tension, light and shadow, restraint and brilliance, the very essence of Art Deco design.
Crafted in about 1920, this ring is made in platinum and set with a large onyx panel measuring 24 x 13.5 millimeters. Flanking the center are two coral elements, each measuring approximately 12.5 x 3.5 millimeters. The ring is further set with 9 diamonds, including one central diamond measuring approximately 5.7 x 5 millimeters and eight rose cut diamonds measuring approximately 1.7 millimeters each, all in closed back settings. The ring is a size 7.5 US and weighs 6.47 grams. The face of the ring measures 24.6 millimeters north to south and 29.3 millimeters across east to west, rising 7 millimeters off the finger, with a band width of 1.3 millimeters. There are no visible marks, and the metal has been tested as platinum. The gallery is beautifully worked with open detail, allowing light to pass through and adding depth to the design.
