Edwardian Love Knot Gold Band Hallmarked 1908

$ 750.00

Starting with sailors in the mid 1800's, the love knot quickly became a symbol of undying love and devotion. Those Victorians were quite a sentimental and romantic bunch and they simply adored love knot rings like this one.

The craftsmanship on the ring is quite wonderful, the shank splits to form a triple knot of rich, glowing 9 karat gold. The ring is hallmarked with codes showing it was made in Chester, England in 1908. It also is marked with an ‘9’ and ‘.375’ for the gold content and the makers mark of ’SB & S Ld’. It is a size 6 and could be carefully sized to preserve the marks. It weighs 5.8 grams.

This ring would make a very romantic and lovely wedding band.
