Handcrafted in England around 1890, this antique Victorian ring is centered with a striking rectangular cushion-cut sapphire measuring approximately 6 by 5.2 by 4.3 millimeters and weighing about 1.18 carats. Surrounding the sapphire is a halo of twelve old European-cut diamonds, including one set into each shoulder, each measuring approximately 2.4 by 2 by 1.7 millimeters, for a total diamond weight of about 0.9 carats. The face of the ring measures approximately 11 by 17.2 millimeters and sits 4.7 millimeters off the finger, with a delicate band width of 1.2 millimeters. The ring is a size 7.25, weighs 2.6 grams, and has been acid tested to confirm its gold content.
