There is something unmistakably fresh about this necklace, like early summer light caught in gold leaves. The peridots glow with that distinctive apple-green brilliance, lively and bright against the warmth of richly patinated gold. Between them, seed pearls gather like dew along delicate sprays of foliage, the whole composition arranged in a graceful festoon that feels both natural and intentional. Handcrafted around 1900 in 15 karat gold, the necklace measures 15.25 inches in length and weighs 7.66 grams. It is set with three peridots totaling approximately 2.62 carats: one measuring 8 x 6 x 3.5 millimeters or approx. 1.12 carats, and two measuring 6.5 x 5 x 3.5 mm and 6.5 x 5 x 3.4 mm or approx. .76 and .74 carats. Thirty-one natural pearls ranging from 1.5 to 2.5 mm accent the floral motifs. The central drop measures 24 mm high by 19 mm wide and 4.5 mm deep, and the decorative span across the drop from end pearl to end pearl measures 71 mm. There are no marks, but has been professionally tested.
It rests beautifully along the collarbone, the peridot drops catching light with every movement.
