Handcrafted around 1900 in 15 karat gold and hallmarked “15 CT,” this pendant brooch measures 49 millimeters north to south including the drop, 35 mm across, and 7 mm deep, and weighs 6.1 grams. It is set with two round peridots measuring 5 x 5 x 3.8 mm and one pear-shaped peridot measuring 9 x 5 x 3.6 mm, totaling approximately 1.54 carats. Three violet-pink tourmalines, two round stones measuring 3.5 x 3.5 x 2.9 mm and 3.5 x 3.5 x 2.5 mm, and one rectangular stone measuring 6.5 x 5 x 3.2 mm, total approximately 1.22 carats. Twenty natural pearls ranging from 1 to 2.5 mm complete the design. The piece is fitted with both a brooch pin and a bale, allowing it to be worn as either a pendant or brooch.
There is movement in the pear-shaped peridot drop and delicacy in the seed pearl blossoms, but beneath the refinement lies purpose.
