Like moonlight caught in a rainshower, this ethereal pendant glows from within. A luminous opal, alive with spectral color, anchors the piece; its fire dancing through an openwork frame of hand-wrought silver leaves and golden berries. The composition is tender and deliberate, not just ornament, but philosophy. It captures the Arts & Crafts movement’s reverence for nature, truth to materials, and the human hand. Romantic yet grounded, it feels like a secret relic from a more thoughtful age.
Attributed to the Artificer's Guild and made around 1910, this pendant is crafted in sterling silver with applied 18 karat gold bead accents. At its center is a spectacular rectangular opal cabochon, closed-backed and measuring 18.5 x 15 mm, set in a finely milled bezel. The full pendant measures 58.3 mm from the top of the bail to the bottom, 20.7 mm across, and 5.4 mm thick. Though unmarked, its distinctive form, leafwork, and construction align closely with known pieces by the Guild.
A striking and soulful piece for collectors of Arts & Crafts jewelry and for those who believe that beauty should be handmade.
