He had carried the ring with him for days, turning the moment over in his mind until the words felt steady enough to speak. When he finally asked her, it was not with grand display, but with certainty. This antique Edwardian diamond ring was chosen for that reason, its cushion cut diamond glowing softly in a setting of 18 karat gold and platinum, secure, close to the hand, made for a life lived together rather than admired from afar. The small rose-cut diamonds along the shoulders caught the light as she moved, subtle and intimate, like punctuation to a promise meant to last. It was an engagement ring chosen with care, meant to be worn every day, carrying love not as spectacle, but as something constant and sure.

Handcrafted in England around 1910, this antique Edwardian ring is made of 18 karat gold with platinum settings, a hallmark combination of the period. It is set with a central diamond measuring approximately 5 by 4.6 by 3.1 millimeters, with an estimated weight of about 0.50 carats. Three rose-cut diamonds are set into each shoulder, adding quiet sparkle and period character. The ring is marked “18ct” and “pt” for the gold and platinum. The front of the ring measures approximately 5.5 millimeters north to south and 17 millimeters across, sits about 5.5 millimeters off the finger, and narrows to approximately 1.6 millimeters at the back of the band. It weighs 2.2 grams and is a US size 7.

Graceful without fragility and refined without austerity, this is the kind of ring that feels made to be worn, not just admired. Its scale and balance make it ideal for everyday wear, while its craftsmanship and history give it lasting presence. A beautiful example of Edwardian design, it carries its sparkle quietly, rewarding close looking and a life well lived. A ring to say yes to, again and again.
