Like a pair of wings frozen mid-flight, this delicately engraved barrette glimmers with iridescence. Each end holds a glowing orb of peacock glass—vivid with shifting greens and blues, while the silver forms a sinuous, organic silhouette, echoing the movement of feathers or ripples on water. The design feels both whimsical and quietly sophisticated, a little echo of the Art Nouveau era’s fascination with nature’s elegance.
French, and crafted around 1890, this barrette is fashioned in silver, hallmarked with the French boar's head mark. It measures 77 mm long by 10.5 mm wide and 9 mm thick, and weighs 7.44 grams. The three peacock glass cabochons are each 5 mm in diameter. The clasp mechanism remains secure, offering a lovely option to wear as a hair slide or scarf clip.
A bit of magic to transform an ordinary day, like a dragonfly or feather caught on the breeze.
