Antique Silver Enamel Brooch Seagull in Flight

Grace in motion, captured in silver and light. This beautifully enameled seagull brooch by Marius Hammer, master of Norwegian Art Nouveau jewelry, soars with remarkable realism. Rendered in icy whites and shadowy greys with golden underwings and a flash of red for its eye, the bird glides mid-flight, a tiny pearl caught delicately in its mouth. Both front and back are fully enameled, a sign of exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. The effect is that of air and water meeting: a moment frozen in time just above the sea.

Made in Norway between 1910 and 1920, this brooch is crafted in 930-grade silver and fully hallmarked with the 930S stamp and Marius Hammer’s signature maker’s mark, an inverted hammer over the letter M. It measures 24 mm tall, 89 mm across, and 6.3 mm deep, and weighs 10.96 grams. The back features its original clasp and a long pin for secure wear on heavier garments.
