This ring carries that spirit with a trio of vivid blue sapphires, shaped like droplets of evening sky, gathered close at center. Around them, a constellation of diamonds creates a radiant halo, their icy fire lending polish to the sapphires’ deep glow. Handcrafted in 18 karat gold and platinum in around 1960, the ring features three blue sapphires, an oval 7 × 4.5 × 3 mm and two pear-shaped stones 6 × 4 × 3.1 mm, totalling 0.88 carats. Surrounding them are twenty diamonds totalling 0.86 carats. The face of the ring measures 12 × 19.5 × 4.7 mm, the band is 1.8 mm wide, and the piece weighs 3.52 grams. Though unmarked, it is tested 18 karat gold with platinum settings. It is a size 6.5 US.
