She rests her hand beside her coffee cup, then gives the little golden elephants a gentle turn. Around they go, trunks lifted, blue sapphires catching the afternoon light. Her companion is telling a story, but she is smiling at the tiny parade on her finger.
Dating to the 1970s, this playful gold band features a procession of elephants that rotates around the ring, framed by smooth raised borders. Their rounded bodies, curved trunks, and sapphire accents give each little figure plenty of personality. Seven sapphires, each measuring approximately 1.5 millimeter, bring touches of deep blue to the warm gold. The band measures 7.5 millimeter wide and 1.8 millimeter thick, weighs a substantial 8.18 grams, and is a US size 10.75. It bears no marks and has been tested as 15 karat gold.
A ring for someone who likes a little wit with their gold, and a jewel that invites you to stop for a moment and enjoy the small things.
