There are jewels from the turn of the twentieth century that feel less like adornment and more like captured movement, an idea rendered in gold. This exceptional Art Nouveau pendant by Archibald Knox, created for the esteemed Liberty & Co., is one of those rare works. Its flowing lines curve like a single breath drawn in and released again, forming an open frame that seems to hover around the warm citrine at its center. The gemstone glows with the mellow fire of late afternoon light on a winter window, suspended with remarkable lightness, while a luminous baroque pearl drops below like a final, lingering note in a song that refuses to end. It is unmistakably Knox, restrained yet expressive, architectural yet poetic.

Handcrafted in England around 1900, this antique Art Nouveau pendant is made in 15 karat gold and has been professionally tested. The pendant measures approximately 59 millimeters north to south, 35.3 millimeters across, and 8 millimeters in depth, and it weighs 7.14 grams. The central citrine is an impressive 5.5 carats, expertly faceted to catch fire even in low light, while the baroque pearl measures approximately 8 by 5 millimeters, irregular and beautifully organic in form. As is common with many Liberty & Co. jewels from this period, the pendant is unmarked, yet the design language, craftsmanship, and materials leave no doubt as to its origin and quality.

This is a jewel for someone who wants their antique jewelry to say something quietly remarkable, about art over excess, intention over ornament, and beauty shaped by thought as much as by hand. Worn today, this Archibald Knox pendant brings with it the enduring elegance of the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau movements, a piece that invites admiration, rewards close looking, and makes the world lean in just a little closer.
