Handcrafted in England around 1900, this 18 karat gold band is marked with a crown, the gold standard “18,” and the maker’s mark HW Ld, with additional hallmarks now softened by age. Three natural sapphires total approximately .34 carats, the central gem measuring 4.5 x 3 x 2.4 mm, flanked by two at 2 x 2 x 1.5 mm. Four rose-cut diamonds, each 1.5 mm, add their delicate sparkle between the sapphires. The face of the ring measures 6.6 mm north to south, 17 mm across, and rises 2.5 mm off the finger; the band width is 2 mm in the back. It weighs 2.09 grams and is a US size 8.75.
