Made in Birmingham in 1897, this band is crafted in 18 karat gold and flush set with three old-cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.08 carats. The central stone measures 2.5 mm, flanked by two smaller 1.5 mm stones. The face of the ring measures 6 mm north to south and 20 mm across, rising 2 mm off the finger, with a 2 mm band width at the back. It weighs 3.36 grams and is a US size 7.75. The inside is marked with the Birmingham anchor, the date letter “x” for 1897, and a partial maker’s mark “L&,” likely softened during an old resizing. It has been carefully acid tested as 18 karat gold.
