Very nicely done, you. You braved the wild world of engagement ring shopping and now, here, after all that searching, you've finally found it. The perfect ring.
I found this lovely and enchanting diamond wallowing away in a very ugly brooch from the 70's. This fabulous stone deserved better, so I searched high and low until I found it. The perfect mount, 14 karat white gold, simple, hand pierced, classical scrolling design. The mount was stoneless, the diamond ringless, so I married them together to create the perfect recycled ring. The diamond is a symphony of light and color. An old European Cushion cut stone (cut around 1870-1880, I suspect) which weighs 1.26 carats out of the mount. I haven't had it graded, but it is a very, very clean and white stone. The facets are large and hand cut, creating a stone which sends off huge flashes of light in all colors of the spectrum. The mount is not too high, but holds the stone up high enough to allow tons of light to enter the stone for maximum effect. Made around 1920, it is currently a size 8.25, but can easily be sized. I had the jeweler re-tip the prongs when setting the stone so that it is very secure.
Even the most subtle movement will draw the eye to this luminous ring. Congratulations, your search is over. First you found the lady, now you've found the ring!
