Antique Arts and Crafts Silver Gilt Lapis Necklace c.1910

Simplicity of form was a concept that Arts and Crafts era artists often embraced. This necklace is the perfect example of that, simple gilded chain supports gorgeous soft beads of rich, blue, lapis lazuli to maximum effect.

This lovely necklace was hand crafted around 1910, probably in England. The four smaller laps beads measure 12x9 mm and the largest one is 23 mm wide and 16.5 mm high, 6.1 mm deep. The necklace is 17.5 inches long and weighs 13.3 grams. It has a nice barrel clasp at the back and while unmarked has been acid tested to verify the metal content.
