Antique Edwardian Gold Compass Fob Pendant

$ 550.00

In a time before GPS, you might find yourself very happy for the help of that ancient and trusties of all direction-giver, the compass!

This compass was doubtlessly made as a fob to be worn along side a pocket watch, and it’s been used well in it’s almost 120 years. The fob was hand crafted in 9 karat gold and is mounted as a spinner in this curb link motif mount. This piece is fully hallmarked with marks for having been in Chester, England in 1907 of 9 karat gold (further marked ’375’ for the gold content) it also has the makers mark of ‘AW’. This fob measures 32 mm from top to bottom including the bale and 24.5 mm across, it’s 6.1 mm thick and weighs 7.6 grams.

Lovely compasses like this one were often given as a gift to a loved one, to help them find their way home!
