Antique Georgian Silver Shakespeare Ring Boxed c. 1720

There’s a hush that falls when you open the lid, a velvet darkness, a glint of silver, and the unmistakable profile of the Bard himself. This ring feels like a secret from another century: solemn, scholarly, and full of reverence. Shakespeare, cast in deep relief with his high collar and contemplative brow, looks eastward across time, perhaps toward the stage, or the page, or the heart of the one who dares to wear him. Dating to around 1720, the ring is crafted in silver with an oval bezel measuring 20.1 x 17.5 mm and stands 2.8 mm off the hand. It is a size 8.5 US and weighs 6.31 grams. The interior bears a partial, now illegible hallmark. It comes in a fitted presentation box stamped "Jay’s, 366 Essex Road, London, N" with the phrase "Makers to the Admiralty," suggesting it was treasured and preserved.

A true collector’s piece, part history, part homage, and wholly Shakespearean.
